D Giles Limited is delighted to announce some exciting news for Thomas Gainsborough and the Modern Woman - it has been nominated by the Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) for: 'Outstanding Exhibition Catalogue of 2010 by an AAMC member'.
Each year the membership of the Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) is encouraged to submit nominations for prizes to be awarded to AAMC Members in recognition of distinguished publications and exhibitions. Thomas Gainsborough and the Modern Woman, published by GILES in association with the Cincinnati Art Museum, has been nominated in two categories: 'Outstanding Exhibition Catalogue of 2010 by an AAMC member' and 'Outstanding Article, Essay or Extended Catalogue Entry of 2010 by an AAMC member' for author Benedict Leca's fascinating article on Gainsborough's compelling portraits of women. The winners will be announced at the annual meeting which will be held in New York City May 15 - 17.
