
Wednesday 4 May 2011 Reinstallation of Wark Collection opens at The Cummer May 13
The Cummer presents a new installation of the Wark Collection of Early Meissen Porcelain in the newly renovated Betsy & William D. Lovett Gallery. The Cummer’s Meissen Collection, recognized as the most significant collection of its type in the United States and one of the top three in the world, features more than 700 examples of Meissen Porcelain donated to the Museum by siblings Ralph and Constance Wark.
The Wark Collection’s reinstallation is highly anticipated as one of the highlights of the Museum’s 50th Anniversary Year. In conjunction with the renovated gallery, The Cummer will also unveil a new 600-page catalogue of the collection, written by renowned Meissen scholar Dr. Ulrich Pietsch, Director of the Porcelain Collection of the State Art Collection in Dresden.
